Richard Alan Engineering is proud to sponsor Battyeford’s under-14s football team. Formed in 1973 Battyeford Sporting Club has been providing a place of recreation for young people in the Mirfield area for nearly 40 years.

Started by Stan Rowlands, BEM, as a place for his three sons and their friends to play sport, the club now has over 300 boys and girls playing football in age groups from under 7’s through open age, making it one of the biggest junior football clubs in the area.

The Under 14’s boys team (which has a squad of 15) currently play in Division 4 of the Huddersfield and District Junior Football league, which has teams as far afield as Leeds, Barnsley and Oldham.

This season has started promisingly and the team are mid-table after six games.
Having started the season in a kit that was already two seasons old many of the boys were asking when we were going to get a new kit as they were starting to grow out of their old one, so it was greatly appreciated when Richard Alan Engineering stepped in to cover the cost of the whole kit for the squad.

Team coach, Mark Bickerdike, commented “As you can imagine funding is always difficult to get so when a local company comes in to help it is a huge benefit, not just to one individual team, but to the club as a whole, and we’d like to thank Richard Alan Engineering for their generosity.”
